In the 1970s Zanussi diversified into professional kitchen equipment after purchasing F. Zoppas SpA which allowed them to enter the market for large-sized cookers compatible with all kinds of gas. In 1984, the Swedish manufacturer Electrolux bought Zanussi which strengthened their position in Southern Europe and Northern Europe for both domestic and professional kitchen appliances.

The acquisition of Zanussi also provided the company with an extensive network of service providers across Italy.
